WORK
HISTORY:
Redfern Integrated Optics (RIO) is an optical
startup that originated in Australia and now has its headquarters in
California. They are developing a
10Gbps directly modulated external cavity laser (ECL) transmitter (TOSA) using
proprietary silica on silicon process and planar gratings for emerging high
speed Ethernet (e.g. XENPAK, X2, XFP) and SONET applications.
Gemfire is an
optical components startup focusing on array-based multi-port devices. They have developed 8 and 16 port VOA
components; an 8 port 980nm pump laser module and multi-port EDFA systems.
Wyse executed turnaround by transitioning from the
industry leading character terminal provider to the growth business of thin
client computing. Wyse introduced
of the world’s first windows terminal (the Wyse WintermÔ) at Fall Comdex 1995 and won a
Byte Magazine Best of Comdex Award.
WintermÔ became the thin client market
leader with over 28% market share based on 1997 shipments according to IDC.

Vice
President of Engineering, Plus Development Corporation
Plus Development pioneered the market for retail PC
storage products with the HardcardÒ. Plus established the highly successful manufacturing
partnership with Matsushita Kotobuki Electronics in Japan eventually produced
all of Quantum’s high volume 3.5” disk drive products. After creating a successful business
this internal start-up was merged with Quantum. The QCP group continued to focus on all non-OEM business at
Quantum. The SSPG was formed to
manage Quantum’s tape and solid-state storage products. A line of Flash memory based PCMCIA
storage cards was developed and introduced.
Valid was one of the early leaders in CAE (Computer
Aided Engineering) and was acquired by Cadence.
Interactive Images
was a startup creating tools for generating graphical user interfaces for
mainframe programs. Interactive
Images is now part of Ascential Software.
ADL is one of the
world’s leading technology and management consulting firms.
Codex was a
leading developer of data communications products and was acquired by Motorola.
Teradyne develops
